I’m delighted to announce that today we’re shipping Sencha Touch 1.0. Since we shipped our first beta

in June, we’ve added a massive number of new features and improved practically every area of the

product. Among the many things, we’ve added HTML5 forms support, web-based pickers, and a complete new

MVC package. We’re particularly proud of the Android optimization work that we’ve done to implement

high-performance list scrolling on Android.

Given the huge number of downloads of Touch — over 160,000 in our beta period alone — and the amazing

apps we’re seeing built with it, we feel like Sencha Touch has become the gold standard for rich web

apps on mobile. We’d like to do everything possible to encourage its use and proliferation. And for

that reason, I’m also delighted to announce that as of today, we’ll be offering a free commercial

license to Sencha Touch to everyone.

Those of you who purchased Sencha Touch standalone as a pre-release will receive automatic refunds, and

those of you who purchased Sencha Touch as part of Sencha Complete will receive an extra three months

of support and maintenance as part of that purchase. (Please give us a week or two to process these

refunds completely.)
